what is a fatberg?

think twice, save a pipe…

A fatberg is a large, solid mass found in sewer systems, consisting of congealed fat, oil, grease, and non-biodegradable waste materials like wet wipes, sanitary products, and other debris. These materials accumulate over time, forming blockages in the sewer pipes.

Fatbergs can grow to enormous sizes, sometimes weighing several tons, and can cause significant damage to sewer infrastructure.
